Community Housing Solutions (CHS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the long-term preservation of affordable housing. Our work centers on acquiring, redeveloping, and responsibly operating multifamily communities so they remain affordable to low- and moderate-income households—not just today, but for decades to come.

CHS focuses on the full life cycle of affordable housing, from acquisition and rehabilitation to long-term asset management and resident stability. By preserving existing properties and preventing the loss of naturally occurring affordable housing (NOAH), we help protect families and seniors from displacement and maintain affordability in communities where rents are rapidly rising.

Our approach is rooted in collaboration and financial stewardship. We partner with public agencies, mission-aligned investors, and community organizations to leverage capital, secure long-term affordability restrictions, and reinvest in aging housing stock. This allows CHS to strengthen housing quality, improve energy efficiency, and extend the useful life of properties while keeping rents income-restricted.
